blouse - Annie & the Mannequins      disco pants - AA     coat - River Island
hat - Topshop      boots - Boohoo     watch - mk

 hey girls,
this is the outfit I wore yesterday for a visit day to the University of Manchester. If you follow me on instagram then you'll probably know that this top only arrived the day before but I was just so excited to own it I had to wear it asap.

I was trawling through asos marketplace last week and spotted this beauty. I've made a pledge to myself to start investing more in my clothes, so instead of just shopping in primark (don't worry I still love your bargains primarni ;) I'm trying to buy better quality, unique, vintage pieces that I won't get bored of or rip in a few months. this blouse definitely meets that criteria; I actually can't believe its from the 80s and in such immaculate condition, the annie girls clearly did an excellent job at restoring it as it's better than brand new!

when I first laid eyes on what I now call 'my new love', I knew I had to have it! it goes with so many things! I've styled it quite simply with just my disco pants, but I can also easily wear it with light wash jeans, shorts, skirts, and because it hasn't got a collar I can even wear it as a blazer over dresses in the summer. if you can't tell already I'm extremely happy with my new purchase and will probably be wearing it a little too much in the future ;) I'll also definitely be purchasing more items from Annie & the Mannequins as I've literally fell in love with all their clothes, they're amazing quality and the girls provide an excellent service; my top only took one day to arrive after it had been dispatched! I highly recommend you check out their website, their asos marketplace account (which has a wider collection) and their blog (which I perved at the other day and looked at a years worth of posts because I loved all their outfit ideas so much!)

You'll be glad to know that I'm now going to shut up rambling on and love you and leave you all. hope you all have a good week!

OOTD #18

top - Topshop    skirt - New Look     coat - River Island    shoes - Boohoo
belt - ASOS    scarf - Ebay    bag - Ebay    necklace - Ebay

bonjour,
this is a quick outfit that I threw together today, and when I say threw I literally mean threw. I only had 30 minutes to get ready and found out my trusty disco pants were hanging on the washing line so I dashed back up to my room and noticed this skirt lying on the side - freshly washed and not yet banished to my wardrobe. So I dug out my tights and this new top. I say new, but like many of my other things at the moment its already 2 months old and today was only its first outing! I bought it back in the beginning of january to wear for my friends birthday but allergic reactions and snow meant that the top never full-filled its destiny and it instead has stayed buried under a heap of clothes for months. I do love it though. I'd been looking for a mesh top and as this one has hamsa hands, evil eyes and crosses on I couldn't help but add it to my basket. I wanted to pair this top with the blue denim joni jeans but I haven't bought a pair yet so instead wore this skirt instead - purchased more recently, only 2 weeks ago from new look. I was going to buy the £30 topshop version but this skirt was only £15 and I had a new look voucher for my birthday so it worked out a free! can't complain about that :)

OOTN

dress - ASOS   shoes - Topshop   bag - Primark   watch - MK

hey chicas! firstly I'd like to apologise for these awkward pictures. they're terrible but they were still the best out of a bad bunch. an ice cream van decided to rock up to my house while I was taking these pictures hence the random ice cream prop - it wanted to get in on the camera action ;)

I've been waiting to wear this dress for 2 whole months! I bought it before christmas and have been waiting for the perfect opportunity to wear it since. luckily on saturday that moment finally happened as it was my friends birthday so I showcased it in the clubs of birmingham (which I must say I can't actually remember much about other than now my bag and purse are covered in mud which I guess is a sign I had a good night - I'd love to know where this mud came from though!).

the moment I set eyes on this dress I fell in love with it! I have an obsession with off-the-shoulder pieces at the moment and thought the little cut out detail was beautiful. I was a bit sceptical to buy it at first though as I hate showing my legs because of my weird knees; like seriously how have I even got fat knees, it looks like I've got 4! eventually though I decided my love for this dress is more than my hatred for my knees so I bit the bullet and purchased it. I don't think my obsession with off-the-shoulder pieces is going to die down in the near future either so I think I might buy the midi version too; as you've all probably noticed I have a bit of an obsession with anything midi so you'll probably see me wearing it soon!

I also wore my new Lassie shoes from Topshop. I absolutely love them and really need to invest in all the colours! on reflection the red versions would have looked a lot better with this dress but as I haven't bought them yet my black ones had to do the job. I highly recommend these shoes to anyone as I think they are relatively cheap for topshop as you'd normally expect to pay around £80 for their shoes, and they are extremely comfortable compared to other heels. I can't lie they did hurt my feet at the end of the night, but that was 3am and I'd been standing up for hours so that's to be expected. other heels normally hurt my feet before I've even got out the taxi so these were definitely worth splashing out on.

I'm now going to make the most of my week off by watching the bodyguard and stuffing my face with pizza. I hope you all have a good week and spend it more productively than me :)

#what's your chat, blogger?

heeeeeeeeey!
wow enthusiastic greeting right there. I think it's well deserved though as I've been naughtily hibernating for over a month. When I last posted I said I'd be taking a break for a few weeks due to my exams but then I think I became a bit (read: very!) lazy. I've missed reading everyone's blogs and I'm now trying to get my blogging train back on the right track so I can catch up with everyone.

This is something I've been meaning to do but I just didn't know what to post I kept thinking "what the hell do I post after a month!?". Thankfully though the beautiful Katie at Katies Cup of Tea saved me from this dilemma by tagging me in her 'whats your chat, blogger?' post and I thought what better way to re-introduce myself to the blogging scene than to tell you all a bit about myself. But before we get on to my craziness I highly recommend that you check out Katie's post and blog they're both amazing; as is her style. I literally want everything that she owns and everything on her wishlists! she deserves so many more followers so go check her out :)

BACK TO BASICS

What's your name?
Danielle, but most people call me Danni. My nickname used to be Nell when I was younger because my little sister couldn't say Danielle and I've even been called danni the fanny and faniella by my friends because they're just nice people like that ;)

How old are you and when's your birthday?
I'm 18 and my birthday's in December (hi 5 my fellow Sagittarius' ;)

Where do you come from?
Wolverhampton, 45 minutes away from Birmingham. Yep that's right that means I'm surrounded by the cringe worthy Black Country accent and I've even got it myself *sad face*

What's your current occupation?
I'm a sixth form student full-time. I also work in the bars at my local football club and work as a cleaner for a few hours a week... one day I will make an amazing housewife due to my hoovering and pint pulling skills ;)

FILL ME IN, WHAT'S YOUR BLOG ABOUT?
What category does your blog fall into?
I originally advertised my blog as fashion, beauty and lifestyle but it does feature a lot more fashion related posts than any other - I guess I just have an obsession with clothes. Now that I'm back I've got a few outfit posts planned and even a few beauty posts. I've fell in love with some amazing beauty products in the last month and I just have to share them with you all.

What's the aim of your blog?
It hasn't really got an aim - its just my hobby. I loved reading blogs so decided to create my own to share all the things I love in the fashion-sphere. I really love the blogging world everyone's so positive and friendly and how can you not love perving on all the latest trends :) I only created my blog in July but I already feel that my style has developed so much because of it and I feel more confident. I also like looking back at my earlier posts and reminiscing about what I was doing at the time; my blog is like my diary.

What's the reason behind your URL and blog name?
well as you can probably tell not a lot of thought went into thinking of my blog name. My mindset was "my names Danielle, its a fashion blog... Danielle's Closet. Ta da!". Once I'd plucked up the courage to create my blog I was too excited to think of an amazing name, plus im not the most imaginative person in the world. But it's simple and its a name so its fine :) My URL is just my blog name but in Spanish. Danielle's closet had already been taken and I was teaching myself Spanish at the time so armariodedanielle.blogspot.co.uk was born!

Five great blogs to check out!
This was originally meant to be only 3 blogs but I had to bump it up to 5 as you seriously need to check out these girls blogs! I love too many blogs so it was really hard trying not to name every blog under the sun - so please don't be offended if I didn't name you.
I love all these girls styles so much I seriously want to raid there wardrobes! one day I may have to plan a GI Joe-esque mission to steal there clothes ;)
Go check out these beautiful girls blogs!

INSPIRE US
What inspires you the most?
I can't pinpoint one thing that inspires me the most. Lots of things inspire me on a daily basis through conversations, songs, books and movies. If I enjoy something then I'm likely to be inspired by it. I guess my parents are the most inspirational in my life due to the fact I'm so much like them without even realising.

One quote or motto that you live by?
"you can't re-write the story, you can only learn from it"
This is a phrase that I've lived by for many years and I was planning on getting it as a tattoo in half term but I've got no money at the moment, sad times :( The phrase basically means that things happen, you can't change the past or stop things from happening. You can only ensure that you learn from your experiences and make yourself a stronger and better person. If you make a mistake, don't regret it, just make sure you don't make it again.

Favourite icon, dead or alive?
I love too many icons to actually chose one. I love the classic songs, like a bit of Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Elvis and the Beatles. I'd love to have been alive when they were in their prime. My sister and I were even having a conversation the other day about how jealous we are that my mom could go out in the 80s and they would play tuneage like wham. Seriously why don't they play that any more? I swear I would go out every night and never stop dancing!

LET'S BE RANDOM
So you're an animal, what are you?
A meerkat! I bloody love those furry buggers if I was a meerkat then I'd obviously be able to be friends with the one and only Alexander the Meerkat. We would sip tea together and moan about how people keep visiting comparethemeerkat.com instead of comparethemarket.com.

You can eat one thing for the rest of your life?
ooh toughie. I think it would have to be between bbq chicken pizza and Indian food. These are already staples in my diet, unhealthy I know but so god damn nice.

*Click* you're anywhere in the world, where are you?
I want to visit so many places but the place that automatically came to mind is New York. I have already been but I just love the place and have a slight obsession with it. I'd love to live there and pretend I'm part of the cast of F.R.I.E.N.D.S or How I Met Your Mother (yes I also have an unhealthy obsession with New York based sitcoms ;)

Insert random picture here?
I leave you with a picture of some adorable kittens. enjoy :)

I tag... everyone!
If you want to do this tag then feel free.
I'd love to read your post so leave a link in the comments below and I'll check it out :)

OOTN

top - asos    disco pants - american apparel    shoes - topshop
belt - asos    watch - mk    necklace - ebay   earrings - topshop

hey y'all (yep I totally just went all american on your ass' ;)
so this is the outfit I wore last night. another outfit of the night, sorry, I just don't seem to be venturing out in the day at the moment, I've turned into a bit of a vampire, but I guess its an excuse to flaunt my new shoes more!

so I went to chiquitos last night as a late new years sixth form meal and decided to wear my new top. I actually bought it a couple of weeks before christmas and had been saving it for the right occasion and I thought now was the perfect time to showcase it. I love this off-the-shoulder style at the moment it reminds me of the 90s, and being burgundy and velvet also made my love grow even stronger for it. however as you can probably see I was cursed with a boy chest (damn you dna!) which means although this top is a size small its still huge on me! at the time I quite liked how the back drapped and I thought with a lot of tape I'll make this work. but I think I overestimated how strong body tape is and ended up having a lot of close shaves with the top falling down. so I literally just spent the night holding it to my bresticles and trying my best not to make any sudden movements. I don't know whether there was something wrong with my top and it was just marked as the wrong size or if you just have to be like this woman to wear it. oh well maybe if I get some industrial strength tape I'll wear this badboy again.

before I go I'll just apologise in advance for my future lack of blog posts. I've got my A level exams in 2 weeks time so I've got to focus on them. however after they've finished, in the words of arnold schwarzenegger "I'll be back"! I know a lot of you have also got exams coming up soon, so good luck with yours too! :)

new year and new shoes

jeans - River Island     blouse - Select     shoes - Topshop
coat - River Island      necklace - Ebay     watch - MK

happy new year everyone... and since I'm wearing tartan I'll say happy hogmanay too!
I hope your all not suffering too much from the overdose of alcohol last night ;) and can you believe its 2013!? I'm starting to feel really old! I'm looking forward to this year though, lots of parties, finishing sixth form and hopefully starting uni and moving away. I need to grow up this year and maybe stop watching so much disney?... who am I kidding I'll never be too old for that ;)

I wore this on sunday for an early new years meal with my friends. We went to a new pub near to where we live. It's part of that hungry horse chain, anyone else been to any of their pubs? I thought it was amazing the foods delicious, the portions are huge and its cheap. We also got to sit in a booth that had a tv in... yes that's right we watched come dine with me whilst munching it was pretty amazing ;) and we even got some free shots due to a bit of flirting with the waiter (got to be done girls ;)

I thought I'd take my tartan jeans out for a night out - I think they enjoyed themselves ;) - but you know how much I love tartan anyway so it just had to be done. I also thought it was the perfect opportunity to showcase my new shoes. They're the Stunner heels from Topshop. Which is quite a fitting name as I think they really are stunning! I'd been eyeing them up for a few months and decided last week it was time I took a trip up town, armed with my christmas money, to finally purchase these babies.

OOTD #017

shirt - vintage      disco pants - American Apparel     boots - Boohoo
coat - River Island      earrings - Topshop     watch - MK

merry christmas everyone!
can you believe its christmas day tomorrow!? it seems to have gone so quick this year it doesn't even feel like christmas. like where is the snow and why is there so much rain? but other than that I'm seriously looking forward to my christmas dinner tomorrow; im craving gravy as we speak! are you all excited too?

I actually ventured out of my house today to help my friend get some last minute presents so I ceased the opportunity to take pictures of this outfit I wore on friday. like most of you still in school or sixth form you probably just had a lazy day where you played games, watched films and had the annual christmas assembly - I did too! although on the day of the so called apocalypse my form teacher decided it was best she make us watch 2012 to prepare for the end of the world... I just wanted to watch home alone not be scared for my life ;)

as we only had to do half a day at school we were aloud to wear our own clothes - so I wore this, the vintage shirt I told you a few posts back about. I bought it at the clothes show for £15 and it was so hard not to buy the whole stall! I literally had a handle full of shirts and had my friend and the women working there all helping me to decide which one to buy. after a little help I finally decided on this one and I love it so much. I really need to invest in some more vintage pieces now!

and finally I'd just like to thank the beautiful Maddie for featuring me in my her latest 'blogs I love' post. It meant so much to know that someone enjoys reading my blog and especially her as I always love reading her posts! so if you haven't already checked out her blog, which I'm sure most of you have already, I highly recommend you do! and also hi to all my new followers :)

I'm off to watch the last ever merlin now, sad times! I'm not ready for it to end :( but I hope you all have a lovely christmas!

cheap as chips

sponsored post

----------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------

Hey chicas, so I know I've been MIA for a couple of weeks now and I actually haven't got an excuse other than me being completely lazy. I was even meant to post an outfit on friday but like the dope I am I forgot to even take any pictures. So I can only apologise and promise that the outfit should be up sometime in the future when I whoop my arse into shape.

Now onto the stuff your really interested in. I was contacted a few weeks ago by an Asian company called Clothing Loves; who wanted me to write a post about their jewellery and after looking at their selection and the prices they were being sold at I just had to share this with you all. Clothing Loves sells a range of wholesale jewellery which means it's incredibly cheap as it is bypassing the retailers who normally price them at extortionate amounts compared to the price they paid for the same thing. I've noticed that some of the jewellery looks quite similar to that of ASOS but a hell of a lot cheaper!

As well as jewellery the company also sell womens and mens clothing, wedding dresses, prom dresses and evening dresses. The things aren't probably to everyones tastes at first but if you look hard enough you can find some real gems! So go on girls find your bargains (is it weird that I imagined myself saying that like the wicked witch said "fly my pretties, fly!" in the wizard of oz... I think it might be ;)

and if I don't post anything else before christmas I hope you all have a lovely christmas, get everything you've been begging your parents for and stuff your faces! :)

OOTD #016

coat - River Island     midi skirt - Topshop     bralet - Republic     Scarf - Ebay
boots - Boohoo      bag - Ebay      necklace - DP

bon giorno, this is my outfit I wore to the Clothes Show Live yesterday which you've probably already seen if you follow me on instagram. I only decided I was going to wear this the day before (very unorganised of me ;) and was a bit sceptical of wearing my big coat and scarf in case I got too hot but my sister, who went on the saturday, assured me I'd be fine and I actually was. I didn't suffer with any hot flushes for once but I felt like I was just going to faint being squashed between people and dragging heavy bags around for hours... other than that though it was amazing! the amount of amazing goody bags packed full of bargains was amazing. I got a models own one worth £70 for £10! In fact I got a bit carried away with all the goody bags and without even realising I'd spent all my money, oops.

The show itself was amazing too; I was on the 2nd row of the catwalk so had an amazing view of our little henry holland, jls and the sexual male models.. definitely couldn't complain about them ;) I also saw Gemma Collins who was trying to hide, Sam Faiers signing her book and Lee Stafford casually sitting talking to a group of people about 'a 60's up-do' and then later throwing his hair products at people... not in a violent way ;) I really wanted to buy one of his goody bags that was hugeee and had 10 products in for £10 but like the poo brain I am I'd already spent all my dollar.

Before this budgeting mishap though I bought a beautiful vintage shirt from a little boutique and 2 rings that were only £1 each - bargain! I also had a rook piercing done by a piercer at the show which was only £20. I was going to get it done on my birthday (also thanks to everyone who wished me happy birthday I had an amazing day :) at the tattoo studio where I had my tattoo done, but it was £40 there so I literally got it for half price at the clothes show, yaaay. Although it bloody hurt! my tattoo literally didn't hurt at all I was like "seriously is that it? its hurts more to epilate my legs!" but the rook piercing hurt like a muther puckin' biatch! and the woman had really chubby fingers and wasn't the most gentle of people; I thought she was trying to rip my ear off :| but yep still think I need to get a snug piercing next... I think I just like putting myself through the pain whats wrong with me!

anyone else go to the clothes show this year?

Saturday, 8 December 2012

im going to party like its my birthday..

girlies its my birthday! I'm officially 18... I'm an adult! not even going to lie I'm already finding it really weird that people are buying me alcohol legally and aren't asking the obligatory question to my mom "is she aloud some wine?". not going to look forward to the fact that now I can't use and abuse people to get me a drink and will have to start coughing up the cash myself though, damn! ;)

I also got the iphone 5 today, after having the same brick of a phone for 4 years (how the hell it lasted that long I really don't know) I put my orders in for an iphone a year ago and finally got it today! yaaay! this also means I've finally got instagram so feel free to follow me at daniellee_w I'll be uploading a picture of my new tattoo later :) also feel free to leave your instagram names below cause I'd love to check yours out and give you a cheeky follow (not in the stalkerish way that sounds ;)

and lastly I'd like to apologise for being a bit MIA the last week I've just been really busy. I hate it when I can't comment on my favourite blogs, so I'm going to catch up on everything now :)
